Five Must Haves in Your Online Dating Profile

1. Be Specific In Your Online Dating Profile

If you do not want to lose time be as specific as you can about you while filling up your personal profile. Think about this part as if you were writing an advert for yourself. Describe yourself clearly. For example you might say: “I’m a guy who likes cooking but also enjoys going out and spending time with friends”.

2. Be Unique In Your Online Profile

You might say: “I’m looking for someone who is not afraid of messing up the kitchen while preparing evening dinner for two” or “I’m looking for someone who is not afraid of crickets’ chirping when camping at night under the summer sky”. This will give you a unique edge and introduce a bit of humour into your profile. It will also show the other person that you have great vocabulary and reveal that you like camping. Remember you are writing an ad for yourself and you want to be unique and have something specific the person on the other side will remember you by.

3. Double-Check Your Grammar And Spelling

Always do a grammar and spell check. Would you date someone who does not know how to write properly? If not, why would they?

4. Your Age

It is very easy to create a profile of somebody who you would like to be, but the truth is that one day, if you want to meet the other person face to face, they will actually see how you look like or how old you are. I would say that it can be forgivable +/- 3 years in your profile, but more than a decade is a bit of exaggeration.

5. Your Physical Description And Your Picture

The best advice I could give is to look into the mirror and describe what you see. If you are a bit overweight, be honest and you may then say “I’m a bit overweight and feel good with it”.

As for the picture, use the recent photo. So many people are disappointed after the actual first date. I hear my friends saying: “she did not look like her profile picture, he was too short, too fat etc”. In that instance you find that you may have lost few months of your time chatting online with a stranger who is untruthful to yourself. Trust me, feeling disappointed is not a good feeling at all and I am sure you know what I am talking about. Also, unless you are looking for a one-night stand, keep your shirt on when taking your picture.

Even though it may seem difficult to find the right person online, there are more and more people finding their life partner thanks to the Internet. If you are truthful from the beginning, your chances of meeting and sharing your life with another person will increase dramatically.

Remember, there are many normal, sincere people just like you looking for a relationship online (I know – because I met one!). Happy fishing!
